Philosophy of History

Research in the field of Philosophy of history focuses on how philosophic ideas, theories, and arguments develop through history. We also philosophically and critically analyze the different approaches and aspire to understand them in their historical context and in light of the most influential questions of their time. Studying the philosophy of history enables us to improve our understanding of the continuity and development of philosophic ideas and to detect forgotten perceptions that can contribute a lot to current discussions. Members of the Department of Philosophy are proficient in various Western philosophic eras, from antiquity to the early New Age and the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
